I'm trying to get an idea of how many transfers in the past year in any given zip code represent REO properties, and the total number of properties currently in a zip code are in some stage of foreclosure, not just what was filed in the past month.

RealtyTrac specializes in that sort of information. If you have a subscription log into it and go to the stats and trends section for the area you want to search. If you are not a member you can get the info from a Taylor, or Tylor, i foget. He works for RealtyTrac in their data dept.

Thank you for your interest in RealtyTrac foreclosure data. The Data Licensing department has reports available for purchase that provide that zip code level statistics on Sales Activity (identifying how many sales are regular sales vs Pre-foreclosure sales vs Bank Owned sales) *all arms length transfers to third parties* We also have a report that is a snapshot of all properties currently in the foreclosure process (called a foreclosure Inventory report) To find out more about these products please contact the Data Licensing Department at 1-800-913-0439
